Wardwells is a wholesale native-plant nursery on Black Hammock Island in Jacksonville, Florida. Five acres of pines and marsh near the Timucuan preserve, opening in 2026.
Northeast Florida is its own growing region. Salt wind off the Intracoastal, sandy soil, hot wet summers, and a real freeze most winters. Plants trucked in from farther south struggle here. The natives that evolved here handle all of it, and those are the plants we grow.
Everything is container-grown under a mature pine canopy, in the same light and conditions the plants will live in after they leave. The list is built for how this region actually plants. Species that thrive in pine shade, hold up on the coast, and pass HOA review.
The nursery is wholesale only. We work directly with landscapers, builders, and HOA managers around Jacksonville, and we grow for the jobs this region builds. Native plants mean less water, less fertilizer, and more for the birds and bees.
Family-owned, environmentally friendly, and simple on purpose.
